“ALWAYS REMEMBER WHY YOU STARTED”
Our Story
Help and Heal, originally called Helping Hands Healing Hooves was formed in 2018 by Alison Pollock. Inspired by a friend and recognising the equine’s natural ability to connect with human beings, Alison began her mission to make a difference.
Alison’s home, Fairview Farm, where she lived with her husband, Mark, became a safe place for people to spend time with the horses. Soon after, Help and Heal were offering Equine Facilitated Learning together with Animal Assisted Therapy to children and young adults in the community.
In 2020, Help and Heal opened their doors to young adults with additional needs, offering a Residential Service to run alongside the established Day Opportunity Programme on the farm.
The end of 2022 marked the addition of our second location - Woodlands campsite in the beautiful Purbecks offering more opportunities for both residential and day services, and so the Community Project was born.
Help and Heal is now a dedicated team of people, with the same clear vision - to do good, create a positive impact and make a difference.
